Leather Sandals for Play | Photo Journal

My children know I love a creative challenge, and they come to me often about their ideas. It is a great joy for me to brainstorm these thoughts with my boys and work with them through the process.

Last week we pulled out the outgrown shoe box to see what might fit the next one in line. In that box were a pair of sandals we made a couple of years back for our middle boy, Duke. Little Charles was so proud to have a "new" pair of sandals and immediately the big boys needed a new pair, too. Thus, they came to me requesting a pair each. Kings and castles have been the central point of their play as they learn about the Middle Ages for homeschool.

This is our photo journal of the process:

The shoes we share in this post are just for play. If the boys wanted them for daily wear, I would glue an extra sole on the bottom, which I still might do later. That takes extra time though, and being excited little boys, they did not want to wait for the glue to dry!
